Quiet Time Wk 1
In your quiet time i'd like you to more than just say a quick prayer and read two verses. Follow this guideline each day and adapt it as God molds your heart and shows you new truths.
Open in a time of prayer before studying the Word.
Have a notebook open with a pen. Read the scripture passage all the way through. Meditate on it. Reread the passage and identify what you feel God is showing you in it, and/or what verses really impact your spirit. Record these things in your quiet time journal.
Do this for each scripture passage (chapter) you read.
For the day or week, identify a memory verse you want to try and put to heart. Write this in your journal. Repeat the verse and attempt to memorize it.
Questions to answer each day...
What was the most impacting scripture or thought from your study?
How do you feel God wants you to apply this truth to your life?
Does this truth bring anyone to mind, possibly to tell it to or pray for?
And write out a prayer to God referencing the scripture if possible, write out your heart to God.
I am excited for you to begin this journey and experience God at work in your life. The first study will be very simple....
Day 1 - Matthew 1 and Genesis 1
Day 2 - Matthew 2 and Genesis 2
Day 3 - Matthew 3 and Genesis 3
Day 4 - Matthew 4 and Genesis 4
Day 5 - Matthew 5 and Genesis 5
Day 6 - Matthew 6 and Genesis 6
Day 7 - Matthew 7 and Genesis 7
I know it seems simple but I want you to get a good idea of what God did in the beginning of creation, and I want you to read about your savior, Jesus, and learn all about His life, ministry on earth, death on the cross, and resurrection.
If you feel the leading by the Spirit to compliment your studies read either one chapter in proverbs a day or one chapter in psalms a day...or both!
Please, please, please utilize this forum to post questions, revelations, thoughts, scriptures, memory verses, ideas, things on your heart, prayer requests, and encouraging statements. Through this forum i believe we all can see God grow us and begin to dwell in us deeper truth and knowledge of the Word.
Bless you. Please text/call/blog any questions. Tom

That was cool. The scripture really told you how Christ really came to be.
